The wave · centre panel, in detail

The heart of the wave: the crest curls into a turquoise tube, the foam bursts into a white crest, and the wet sand reflects the light in the foreground. This is the panel of movement.

Where to hang it

A study, a living room, a teenager’s bedroom. On its own, it works like a surf photograph: energetic, immediate, very legible from a distance.

What it goes with

White, deep blue, light wood, concrete. It is the most self-sufficient panel in the series, the one to choose if you only take one.

Which size to choose

In a triptych, this panel must be exactly centred on the furniture or the sofa, with the other two spread on either side. Centring on the wall rather than on the furniture is the most common mistake.

Questions about this artwork

This one without hesitation: the tube and the foam make it a complete image, whereas the side panels mostly show water and sky.

On matte Fine Art, it is slightly more muted than on screen, which suits a living space. Under acrylic, it regains its brilliance and becomes the brightest point in the room.

It is the original framing, and it is deliberate: the vertical format across three panels gives the wall a rhythm that a single horizontal image does not have.
