In an entryway or hallway, the framed 30 × 40 cm (€79) fits perfectly. Above a sideboard or a sofa, the 40 × 50 cm (€99) is the most popular size. For that gallery presence that stops the eye in a living room, choose the 50 × 70 cm (€125). And in a small apartment, the 20 × 25 cm canvas at €39.90 sits just as beautifully on a shelf.
Which photos work best?
A sharp, well-lit face, photographed from the front and not too small in the frame. The photos can come from different eras and different cameras: that is precisely the point. Just avoid sunglasses, faces in profile, and very dark shots.
How far ahead should you order?
About ten days ahead is enough for an instant portrait: the preview arrives right away, then allow 4 to 7 business days for production and delivery. For a Realistic Portrait, aim for two weeks: the atelier sends the preview by email within 24 to 48 hours, and you have two revisions.
Instant preview or atelier work?
If you have a decent photo of each person, the instant portrait is all you need: you see the result before paying, and it is redone free of charge if the likeness isn’t there. If the composition is delicate (many people, a loved one who has passed, photos of very uneven quality) entrust it to the atelier.
