The line wave, in detail

A wave rendered only in white threads on a deep night blue: the crest curls, the foam resolves into a weave of parallel lines, a few droplets punctuate the sky. The spirit of the woodblock print, without the scenery.

Where to hang it

A study, a contemporary living room, an adult bedroom. It is pure graphic design: nothing to understand, everything to look at.

What it goes with

Navy blue, white, light oak, black metal. With “Monstera” and “Line portrait”, it makes a very current graphic wall.

Which size to choose

The 40 × 50 cm keeps the weave of lines legible; the 50 × 70 cm turns the threads into relief from a distance. Avoid the 30 × 40 cm, where the lines close up.

Questions about this artwork

It is a tribute, not a copy: no Mount Fuji, no boats, none of the colours of the original print. Only the movement of the crest draws on it.

It carries the grain of tinted paper, which avoids a flat digital look. On canvas, that grain is doubled by the textile weave: the effect is more textured, less crisp.

Yes: an abstract subject, two colours, no connotation. It is one of the safest artworks for a video-call wall.
