The ridges slope down to the right and the mist settles in the valleys in horizontal layers. The contrast is a little stronger than on the left panel: the first reliefs stand out in deep blue.

Where to hang it

A bedroom, a living room, a hallway. On its own, it gives the impression of a view from a summit: the eye plunges into the valley.

What it goes with

Slate blue, off-white, linen, pewter. It is the pivotal panel of the series, the one where the mist is most visible.

Which size to choose

Place it at the exact centre of the chosen wall, then mark the chosen gap on either side. With a triptych, you always work from the centre outwards, never from one side.

Questions about this artwork

Yes: the valley and the layers of mist give it enough depth to hold a wall. It is the most “landscape” of the three.

On matte Fine Art, yes: it is the support that renders very soft transitions best. A glossy finish would harden the boundaries between the planes.

The centre of the series at about 1.45 m from the floor if you look at it standing; 10 to 15 cm lower if the wall is behind a sofa or a headboard.
